What is the cloudLibary?

The Cloud Library is a new way North Chicago Public Library cardholders can checkout eBooks and audio books. Now you can check out a book on an iPad, take notes while reading on a PC, and finish the book on an Android phone, Nook HD, or iOS device..

Find the right cloudLibrary App

Quick Start Guide

Download the app.

Download the cloudLibrary App from the Apple App Store, Google Play, NOOK Storefront or install the PC or Mac 3M Cloud Library Apps.

Select your country

Once you open the app you'll be prompted to select your country. Your screen should look like the image to the left.

Select your state

Scroll down until you see Illinois and select it.

Select your library

You should see a list of all the libraries in Illinois who currently use the cloudLibrary app. Scroll down until you see North Chicago Public Library and select it.

Login with your card number and PIN

You'll be promped to enter your entire library card number and password. Your card number can be found on the back of your library card underneath the barcode. Your password is a 4 digit pin number. By default it is set to the final 4 numbers of your library card number.

Browse e-books and audio books

Now you can browse our e-book and audio book collection. Please note that if a book is currently checked out by another patron, you won't be able to read it right away and will be able to place a hold on it instead. If you need additional help, please visit the library for assistance or call 847-689-0125 ext 113.

If you're using a Kindle Fire, installation of the app is a bit more complicated. Instructions for Kindle Fire installation can be found here:
